Here are some comments from readers are more foreign made.
This book is the only official available wuxia novel from the long end of Gu (Ku Long, Ku Lung) in English language to be converted. Gu Long is one of the three best wuxia writer at all, detected in one of his novels is wonderful to finally be in fact. While compared to other translated wuxia novels are a bit unfair because Gu Long has his own distinctive style to write, but in the technical aspects of the translation, Becky Tai, translator, exceeded the rest, mainly from John Graham Earnshaw Minfor. Becky Tai maintained the original author's writing style and mood, even if the words and phrases now in English. In addition, thought Becky, the names and key terms in Chinese Pinyin and explained to his readers, a lot better than the change in the character's name in English or ignorance in dealing with the term "Karate" for Chinese martial arts, Minford and in its Translation of The Deer and the boiler. Overall, this book is worth every cent and should by all those wuxia (Chinese knight race) gender love is collected, but not read Chinese characters, either, nor any other Asian language, in which many wuxia novels have been translated.
As far as I know, it is the second novel by Gu Long released in the West. The first is the French translation by Christine Courniot "Four robbers Huabei is available amazon.fr. This is the first translation into English done by a professional and comprehensive Rebecca Tai. Those of us who are interested in the martial arts fiction, novels look like this, but you do not know martial arts fan to appreciate this excellent novel. Gu Long, Louis Cha has more than a poetic style of writing is unique in the style of Chinese martial arts fiction. I find the settings for his novels, beautiful green leaves a lot to the imagination. Gu Long has combined acute psychological understanding of human nature and the human understanding of honor and shame relational. The characters are fascinating, the situations these characters find themselves in a fantastic time, but that is typical of the literature on the history and fantasy. I loved this novel. This was new and refreshing.
This is one of the first novels of the famous Chinese martial arts fiction Writing Gu Long translated. It is well translated and brings you back in time to a mythical China Thousands of years ago when the Chinese martial art and beauty go hand in hand. Long Gu created the world is romantic, with different characters, both good and evil, and all well-versed in the martial arts. With the development of character, Xiao Feng Shen, and are very believable and sometimes humorous. It's like a literary version of Tiger & Dragon, Hero and House of Flying Daggers. Congratulations to Rebecca Tai translation and Homa to bring a great Chinese literary treasure in the States!
