As teachers eye their empty classrooms on days before school starts where not a creature is stirring and hopefully not a mouse, teachers are with anticipation about what they get filled for the next school year. If they are a group of students to teach easily? If they are the equipment and support they need to be effective? If they are better ideas for their work as a teacher? Of all the teachers can reflect on issues, there are three important aspects for a successful year. These three questions are as follows.
1st How can I create positive relationships with my students?
The sooner you learn the names of your students and get an idea of their personality best. My work for rapport and community in my classes, the students have to complete a questionnaire about themselves on the first day of school. The questionnaire is divided into sections A and B. The questions in section A are for recordkeeping purposes, such as students, name of parents or guardian, phone number, etc. But the questions in section B to make fun, go deal with issues such as: If You could be part of a TV show, which would you choose and why? Each student is to read an answer to a question from section B-shares of the class. After each student has shared, I collect the questionnaires and deposit them in my files.
2nd How do I maintain good classroom management?
Student behavior is easier to manage in the first days of school. To maintain the system in management, students must understand how they behave in class and the consequences for not expected to act appropriately. Teachers need a practical and thought-management class to give them the rules consistently throughout the year. This management tool of the class should meet the following objectives:
a. Remind the students of the class rules on a regular basis, b. provide teachers with a systematic way to recognize the right behavior and discourage bad behavior by its consequences C. create a visual or a document that students and / or parents can consult the following changes in how students meet the requirements of the class
I strongly recommend that teachers and explain their tool management class to use to build on the first day at school, a routine behave properly in class.
3rd What should I learn first?
Most students begin the school year eager and ready to learn. But like any other students who want to enjoy the learning process and feel connected to what they learn. Teachers should try to make their first lessons or unit very engaging. Engaging students requires that the teaching to be more fun or just above. Instead students are lessons Engaging thinking and offer the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas. This can be achieved by connecting the content of the course to an interesting topic. For example, for my ninth grade English, I start too common with the novel "The Pearl by John Steinbeck. A theme that I use to is to capture the attention of my students how instant wealth can change a person's life. If the students the class will hold, during the first weeks of school are delivered, they are easier to teach when you have to do during a boring every now and then later in the year.
A successful classroom imitates that of a thriving community. As a thriving community, is a successful class of the place where a free person the feeling that they can be themselves or be without violating the rights of others or interfere with productivity. Teachers who give careful thought to the above questions is the foundation for a successful school year, in spite of what they can get in on the first day of school.
