Story threads can be a big problem if not solved, and even some of the best writers are not sacrosanct
A thread is a graphic element, no more and no less, but a problem for the authors, if they do not drive to reconcile her son. The rationale for a clear exception is deliberately leaving the unresolved plot point to stimulate interest in reading a continuation of the story. But if the above is irrelevant, the problem may be unbearable for the reader. And some of the most respected writers in the literary history has not been abandoned by linking their talks in an acceptable manner.
